Making Room

Decorations, music, snacks, games—VBS is coming soon, and kids will be pouring in to learn about Jesus!

This summer, invite your students to be part of our new VBS Giving Project: Making Room for Kids!

In the Dominican Republic, many families cannot afford a safe bedroom for their children. When there is no safe place to sleep, families are often forced apart. Bringing Children Hope is working to change that—and your VBS can help.

Your Generosity

Through Making Room, your VBS offering will help create safe, furnished bedrooms so children can remain with their families, hear the gospel, and grow in Christ-centered homes.

Because of your students’ generosity, children will receive:

  • A safe place to sleep and belong
  • Ongoing care, food, and education
  • A living witness of Christ’s love through the local church

Your Generosity

Laying the Foundation with Love and Sacrifice

“Uncle” Ernie and “Aunt” Marie did almost everything in the beginning years. They were parents to the kids. Ernie also took care of the administration, maintenance and promotion. He supervised the construction of the homes built on the Kouts property. Their passion for the Lord and their desire to help children sparked a ministry that has helped thousands of children and countless families.

Partnership

Regular Baptist Press VBS and Bringing Children Hope are excited to partner together this year. RBM’s VBS curriculum features real stories from children in the Dominican Republic—making this mission come alive for your students.

For your church, this short-term VBS project creates long-term impact—helping children grow in compassion, see real-world needs, and experience the joy of gospel-centered giving.

Partnership

Building on the Legacy Through Decades of Service

In 1967 a new director was appointed, Rev. Donald Worch. Five years later Rev. James Geurink was hired and then became the director in 1995 upon Worch’s retirement. These two men carried on the legacy of the Francis family and BCH experienced tremendous growth. Worch and Geurink visited churches all around the United States while helping many children and families along the way. BCH would not be what it is today without their sacrifice.

Right now, the teachers and children of Alice Memorial School gather in a small building made of mud and sticks, sharing space with their one-room church. But hope is rising—one brick at a time.

Z. Clemens, A Bright Fifth Grader, Says It Best:

"From the beginning of the school years, we are experiencing unsafe school building, poor sanitations, and teachers are not paid on time because many parents are not able to afford school fees and even buy school materials for us because of no money. Even many of us go to bed hungry, because no food. With all these circumstances, our teachers, parents and community members are standing their ground for everything to be possible.. Furthermore, we are grateful to BCH for looking in our interest that we are able to boast in something, As the Bible says in Isaiah 43:18, forget the past, for I am doing new things. As today being marked as a groundbreaking, we hope and pray that BCH mission in Gbonota will be accomplished so that we can have quality education for the community to improved from poverty to prosperity!”

The children understand that a strong, safe school building isn’t just about walls and a roof—it’s about opportunity, education, and a brighter future for their entire community.

Will you be part of this incredible transformation? Your gift helps lay the foundation for lasting change—brick by brick, child by child, dream by dream.
